Our Story

Vêtements de sport, made in Acadiana.

Our family name was once longer than it is now. Generations ago, in Louisiana, it was written Fuselier de la Claire. Somewhere along the way the second half was dropped, the way things get shortened when a family has been in one place long enough. We picked it back up and put it on a cap.

De La Claire started the way most good things in South Louisiana do — with family, and with something we love doing together. A father and a daughter who spend their free hours on the tennis court, the pickleball court, and in the gym, and who could never find gear that felt like it came from here.

So we made our own. The magnolia on every piece is the state flower and the tree in the yard. The French on the label is the French our people spoke. The caps and visors are pressed one at a time on a bench in Youngsville, and every piece has been through a Louisiana summer on us first: tennis, pickleball, the gym.

We started with the things we reach for most: a performance cap that keeps its shape, a visor that stays put, and a name we're proud to wear. The line will grow the way it started — one piece at a time, so you can sweat in something de la claire.
